KDKA Continues Free Spaghetti Tradition on Friday, September 19th
31st Annual Spaghetti Breakfast held at Heinz Hall Garden Plaza
PITTSBURGH – The 31st NewsRadio 1020 KDKA Spaghetti Breakfast is Friday, September 19, 2014, 5:00-9:00 AM, at the Heinz Hall Garden Plaza at Sixth and Liberty, Downtown. The public is invited to attend the free event featuring a broadcast of the KDKA Morning News with Larry Richert and John Shumway and a host of entertainment throughout the morning. The breakfast attracts thousands of Pittsburghers on their way to work with KDKA personalities and local dignitaries serving piping-hot plates of penne pasta, sausage, bread and all the fixings.
“This is a one of a kind event and I love that KDKA started it with John Cigna and that it continues with John and me”, Larry Richert said.
John Shumway added, “It’s our chance to provide folks with breakfast OR lunch if they want to take it back to office.”
The event benefits The Little Sisters of the Poor, a charity Cigna supported. They will be collecting monetary and canned food donations onsite. This year, Pittsburgh artist Johno will auction off three prints of his paintings to support the charity. Two of the prints are featured on Sarris Candies boxes and the third is appropriately titled “Tomatoes”.
Jimmy Sapienza and his award winning band will perform again this year. The KDKA Spaghetti Breakfast is made possible by DelGrosso Foods, Kuhn’s Market, Renewal By Andersen, Mr. Waterheater, Pedal Power Tours, Modern Piano, Lamagna Cheese, Cellone’s Bakery, Common Plea Restaurant and Catering, Oakmont Bakery, Allegheny Health Network, Brown Dog Java, American Heart Association, and Waste Management. Sarris Candies is presenting Johno’s appearance at the breakfast this year.
