KDKA Continues Free Spaghetti Tradition on Friday, September 19th
31st Annual Spaghetti Breakfast held at Heinz Hall Garden Plaza

PITTSBURGH – The 31st NewsRadio 1020 KDKA Spaghetti Breakfast is Friday, September 19, 2014, 5:00-9:00 AM, at the Heinz Hall Garden Plaza at Sixth and Liberty, Downtown. The public is invited to attend the free event featuring a broadcast of the KDKA Morning News with Larry Richert and John Shumway and a host of entertainment throughout the morning. The breakfast attracts thousands of Pittsburghers on their way to work with KDKA personalities and local dignitaries serving piping-hot plates of penne pasta, sausage, bread and all the fixings.

“This is a one of a kind event and I love that KDKA started it with John Cigna and that it continues with John and me”, Larry Richert said.

John Shumway added, “It’s our chance to provide folks with breakfast OR lunch if they want to take it back to office.”

The event benefits The Little Sisters of the Poor, a charity Cigna supported. They will be collecting monetary and canned food donations onsite. This year, Pittsburgh artist Johno will auction off three prints of his paintings to support the charity. Two of the prints are featured on Sarris Candies boxes and the third is appropriately titled “Tomatoes”.

Jimmy Sapienza and his award winning band will perform again this year. The KDKA Spaghetti Breakfast is made possible by DelGrosso Foods, Kuhn’s Market, Renewal By Andersen, Mr. Waterheater, Pedal Power Tours, Modern Piano, Lamagna Cheese, Cellone’s Bakery, Common Plea Restaurant and Catering, Oakmont Bakery, Allegheny Health Network, Brown Dog Java, American Heart Association, and Waste Management. Sarris Candies is presenting Johno’s appearance at the breakfast this year.

PITTSBURGH –Jim Krenn, a popular Pittsburgh radio personality and comedian, will join and co-host the KDKA Morning News with Larry Richert and John Shumway each Friday from 8-9 AM. Krenn will kick-off his weekly 8 AM Friday segment with a live appearance at the annual KDKA Spaghetti Breakfast happening this Friday (September 19th) from 5-9 AM at the Heinz Hall Garden Plaza in downtown Pittsburgh.

Krenn, who is a native Pittsburgher and previously spent 24 successful years on the air in Pittsburgh radio, is excited to join John and Larry on KDKA and share his unique and humorous insights with KDKA listeners each week. He currently stars in his own weekly podcast (Jim Krenn: No Restrictions), and does several standing-room only comedy performances each year in Pittsburgh, as well as other US cities. Krenn has performed with many nationally-known celebrities including; Jay Leno, Howie Mandel, Dennis Miller, and Tim Allen.
